Mission & Core Values

My Mission

To learn more every day and live each day as if it could be my last!

To be focused on excellence, fun to be with, and faithful in all things.

Leadership (My Definition)

The ability to inspire the head, the heart, and the hand to achieve a shared vision based on core values for the common good.

My Core Values

Grace

We all make mistakes. Living with guilt is a heavy burden and hinders our walk forward. I need to not only forgive myself, but to forgive others, often living in pain, who know not what they do. I need to hope others forgive me for my faults. We are doing the best we can most of the time.

Gratitude

I want to be thankful for all the many wonderful things that have impacted my life. I seek to remind myself of how much I have been given and how many circumstances and people allowed me to achieve anything. I take time to thank others for their gifts and contributions.

Hope

I believe life is about more than the material, rational world in which we daily live. I seek to see what is possible, not just what is. I believe there is a God who cares about our lives and that we can find faith and abundant love if we seek it.

Humility

I believe that what I have learned has been due to the contributions of others. Therefore, there is no need for me to have selfish pride in my knowledge or accomplishments. I give thanks to others when I am successful. “Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.” (C. S. Lewis)

Learning

I enjoy learning new things and am not afraid to fail as long as I learn from my mistakes. I celebrate innovation because it opens my mind to things I don’t understand. I seek wisdom by asking and listening, watching and reflecting, and trying and failing.

Love

I care about others and want them to know that they have value, no matter who they are or what they do. I seek to serve others; not for what I will get in return, but for the goodness of giving. I practice putting myself in others’ place, seeking to understand what they need and want. “Love always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” (Paul)

Joy

I choose  joy. I am a better person when I laugh and enjoy my journey in life. I only live once, and I don’t want regrets, so I seek joy each day. “Consider it pure joy, my friends, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” (James)

Perseverance

I give my best in everything and push through the things I don’t like to focus on greater purposes. I am not satisfied with the status quo.  I work so that when I am done I am proud of my effort. When I encounter hurdles, I don’t let them stop me and I keep pushing forward. Everything is possible for those who believe.
